We enjoy watching films from a variety of eras and genres and discuss them over a cup of tea. We are particularly interested in how the style and content of this art form has developed over the years. We try to access the type of non-mainstream world films that local cinemas often can’t or don’t show. We also revive old and favourite films of years gone by, sometimes drawing on members' own collections.
In 2022-23, we had eight film showings, five English and three foreign language films. A programme has been produced for 2023-24 with details of each film, which can be used for a short discussion following the viewing. The discussion provides feedback from members to inform future film programmes.
