We undertake short leisurely walks in the countryside, with time to admire the scenery, look at the flora and fauna, or just enjoy good company in the open air. Our walks take place in the morning and cover a maximum distance of 3 miles.
The 2019-20 season began with a stroll from Corsiehill Quarry to the Aitken Arboretum led by David Combe, followed by a walk along the Tay in Dunkeld on a glorious sunny autumn morning led by David Washington. Peter Trant led the next walk at Backmuir Wood near Dundee but, unfortunately, David Thistlethwaite's planned outing to Abernethy Glen was cancelled twice in a row due to wet weather. In February Peter led a walk around Newburgh, with a coffee stop at the distillery, but the rest of the programme was then cancelled due to the coronavirus restrictions. The membership list was again in excess of 40 but the turnout for the walks was generally in the range 10 - 20.
