We undertake short leisurely walks in the countryside, with time to admire the scenery, look at the flora and fauna, or just enjoy good company in the open air. Our walks take place in the morning and cover a maximum distance of 3 miles.
Our first walk was round the Quarrymill Park on the Annaty Burn between Perth & Scone. We learned a little about the history of the Park, looked more closely at some of the trees in the park and had a coffee stop at the MacMillan Coffee Shop.
Our second outing was to the Corbenic Poetry Path at Trochry, near Birnam. This was a magnificent morning out, enjoying the autumn colours at their best and being inspired, and sometimes intrigued or bemused, by the poems and sculptures on display. Some of us are pictured on this page at a wonderfully decorated bench at one viewpoint on the walk.
Our last walk of the season was to Dunning Den. David Thistlethwaite led the group in lovely spring weather through the Den to admire, and hopefully identify, the abundant spring flowers that were putting on a magnificent show. Photos from this outing are also on this page.
Other walks during the season visited Broxden & Cuddies Strip , the Dundee waterfront, Birnie & Gaddon Loch and Blairadam Forest.
