2020/21 will be the fourth year of this group, which was formed by members who were particularly interested in Gaelic hill names and place names. After three years of learning the language together, using the online resource learngaelic.net, we are changing emphasis this year to become a Gaelic Interest Group, rather than continuing to learn the language itself. This should enable members to join if they are interested in Gaelic, but do not have the time to commit to learning a language.
We plan to ask along people with an interest in Gaelic, to tell us about some particular aspect eg music and song, place names, history, hill names. This initially is likely to be via Zoom. Some knowledge of Gaelic will be presumed by speakers, but this does not need to be an in-depth knowledge.
