At group meetings, most of the time we converse in French on many and varied subjects of interest.
In 2022-23, our group practised our skills in reading aloud, translating and discussing articles sourced from current French newspaper and magazine articles. The emphasis was largely on the Arts and aspects of cultural and everyday life, rather than politics and pandemics. We are all very aware of the benefits of using a foreign language to maintain mental dexterity, but we also appreciate the social side of enjoying each other’s company.
