Perth

Welcome to Perth U3A, Scotland

Perth U3A is an organisation for retired and semi-retired people in and around Perth who want to develop their interests in an informal environment. Perth U3A has more than 500 members and we are one of over 1000 U3As throughout the UK. Our members draw on their knowledge and experience to help each other learn. As we have no paid teachers or other staff, we encourage all members to volunteer to help organise and contribute to our activities.

Perth U3A has a programme of monthly open meetings and social events. We also have over 60 different interest groups which meet regularly in members' homes or venues around Perth. We have groups for:

  • interests such as languages, archaeology and history
  • creative pursuits such as art, crafts and photography
  • physical activities such as walking and badminton.

We welcome new members to enjoy the opportunities we offer for informal learning and friendship. You can find out more about us at our Registration Day or one of our monthly open meetings (details are on the Events page). If you'd like to join us, use the Join Us link to find out how.

Perth U3A is a member of the Third Age Trust (TAT) which provides administrative and educational support for all U3As. The Third Age Trust website has more information about the U3A movement. We are also a member of U3A Scotland.

Perth U3A is a registered charity (Scottish Charity SC08302) and we are regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Our charitable purpose is the advancement of education, and in particular the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work.
