Our group name gets to the heart of what we do! We all have some knowledge of Spanish, but are working at different levels. We've tried various ways of improving our understanding and skills, from reading a Spanish novel to playing word games. Most sessions, a new member or two joins the group bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.
In 2022-23 each group member contributed by choosing the topic for a meeting. We generally circulate materials beforehand, perhaps a short text to read and a related subject for members to speak about. We've enjoyed an interesting and diverse selection of topics, ranging across cookery, poetry, art, history, geography, sports and many more. This has allowed us to learn about Spanish culture and of course has highlighted more than a few grammatical problems along the way. We have had many laughs too!
In 2023-24, we plan to continue the way of working we evolved in 2022-23, with each member taking a turn to plan a meeting, including selecting resources to use. We find the internet very useful for this, as there is a wide variety of materials in Spanish. And of course we plan to keep having fun along the way.
