To interact with each other in the group to learn more about birds and wildlife around us.
Objectives-
To do a programme of venues.
To ensure members have a list of guidelines.
Any expertise needed:
Some members have more knowledge and we learn from each other and from various books individuals carry.
Equipment needed (rough costs if any):
We bring our own binoculars. The group subs pay for two small telescopes.
Maximum number permitted in the group: 18
Location, day and time of meetings:
Third Friday each month in varied locations at 9:15am.
A brief description of a typical meeting:
The Group meets at Lowther Road Car Park and we car share. Our walks are in areas where we are more likely to spot birds and wildlife i.e. woods, lakes, reservoirs, Nature Reserves etc.
Once a year we meet at the home of a member for a social get-together with a Bird Watch/Nature programme arranged. In April 2010 we did a Dawn Chorus walk followed by breakfast at a member’s house.
