Welcome To Dunstable u3a
What is Dunstable u3a
We are a highly active group of people IN OUR THIRD AGE. We are working hard to meet regularly, usually via zoom or some similar platform. We are a self-help group and a registered charity.

Do come and join us because we have plenty to offer you from Dunstable u3a and a fabulous opportunity to access a much wider, national structure of activities and learning opportunities offered by the third age trust (TAT). We have been running for more than twenty years and information about the groups offered prior to covid-19, displayed at our 20th year celebration can be seen on this website. Currently we are offering remote indoor activities and when we are in the appropriate tiers, some of our outdoor groups manage to walk, and the badminton group meets weekly. Normal programmes of activities will no doubt return in due course.
The main thrust of our organization is our ‘interest groups’. Members who are sufficiently interested in a subject, and want to meet others who are equally interested, set up an interest group. The group liaison officers advise on this process and if there is sufficient interest from members the group starts up. New members often have new ideas so we would love to hear from anyone prepared to coordinate a new group. During lockdown we are managing to keep over twenty groups running, and just to give you a taster they include wine tasting, ukulele, Spanish, art and architecture, London history and heraldry, among others. We cannot wait to start meeting face to face again although virtual meetings will probably never completely go away. Consequently, we are actively seeking new members to bring us new skills from the workplace.
Membership fees are set at a very realistic £16.50 per year (April – March) but if you join during the year you pay pro rata.
On the third Monday of each month, we offer you a zoom presentation by a guest speaker. Last year we learnt about speakeasy jazz, Lady Jane Grey and American presidents, to mention just a few. In fact, we offer a wide variety of topics.
