***** GROUP ACTIVITIES DURING THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN *****
- Wynny Mehra has arranged several Zoom meetings, for History Group members to meet up online.
- All members have been contacted during the lockdown.
- Elizabeth Court Nursing home has been contacted to give them our groups best wishes. They are not short of PPE.
- It doesnt look like we will be able to meet there again in the foreseeable future so arrangements have been made to meet at a member's home, once lockdown is released.
The group meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 2pm to 4pm. Meetings are informal and friendly. We would welcome new members. Depending on the numbers, members would only need to present a topic about once every six months. Presentations are informal and you can use notes. Topics for presentation are chosen by the group every six months and members can choose to present the topic they have chosen.
Our first topic was World War 1. There were some very interesting papers. We are now looking at UK Prime Ministers. The emphasis is on enjoying the meetings through learning new things, and good discussion with pleasant company.
We do have vacancies for new members. For more information please contact the group leader - Angela Lambert.
