Current Affairs 1
*****THE CURRENT AFFAIRS GROUP 1
The Caterham u3a Current Affairs Group holds its meetings twice a month on Tuesday afternoons.
It is a non-partisan discussion group looking in depth at some of the key issues in the current news media. During the meetings knowledge and opinions are shared with the aim of knowing and understanding more about what is happening in the world.
On the 2nd Tuesday of the month, members bring interesting topics that they have seen in the news media for the group to explore through general discussion. Topics are sourced from the media – newspapers, television, radio, internet, social media, etc.
On the 4th Tuesday of the month one member researches a significant topic as a basis for a more detailed and longer discussion. We sometimes have guest speakers at these meetings. We will have visits to places of interest which are appropriate to the group.
