The Badminton Group is now well established and flourishing. We have a total register of about 16 players, with usually at least 8 playing. The group meets for two hours at the Queens Park Pavilion from 2.00 to 4.00 on a Thursday. We began with a range of players, ranging from complete beginners to reasonably experienced players. The Group now contains mainly players of a good standard, but we are a very sociable group. If anybody wants to learn to play, please let the Groups co-ordinator know, and we will see if it is possible to arrange a beginners group.

Members contribute between £2.50 and £3.50 for a session (depending on numbers), which covers the cost of the hall, net, and shuttles. We do have some spare racquets, so if anyone wants to give it a try, they do not have to commit to purchasing a racquet until they have decided that this is for them.

We Have decided to try running a "Beginners" Badminton session at 4.00 p m, also at the Queens Park Pavilion. Racquets will be available to borrow, although it is expected that if any member decides that they enjoy the sport, they will buy their own. Coaching will be provided. Any would-be players can either come along to the Pavilion or get in touch with the Groups co-ordinator. However, we should stress that this group is for Caterham U3A members only.
