The photos below show the Members of the Group together with their sketches displayed in the Maltings. An artist employed by ESBC contacted me after seeing our sketches displayed at the railways station. She took lots of photos of our sketches from around the town and compiled a map and a collage with them.
These were printed in a large format and used to decorate the windows of the old Subway shop in an effort to cheer up this rundown area of the town.
This popular group has now reached an optimum number for the present. Any future availability will be announced in the monthly email bulletin. We sketch outside around the town and then have a coffee in a local cafe. This is not a teaching group but we do support each other and exchange ideas.
Some of our sketches are going to be used to decorate the shelters on the station. (I am also a station adopter and have organised this with EMR) The sketches will be reproduced in A3 format and covered in vinyl to protect them. The fact that the work was done by a local u3a Sketch group will be added to each sketch. Twenty sketches of the town will be reproduced and displayed.
