Alan is using Zoom for virtual meetings on Monday's at 1.15pm .Contact him as above if you want to join him
The Ukelele Group are continuing to hold weekly virtual meetings using Zoom, which certainly has its limitations for musical groups due to the different time lags, which means that we cannot all join in together. We can and do however have the opportunity to discuss ideas and issues between songs which helps to give the group members an opportunity to engage with a larger group than has been otherwise possible throughout the lockdown. We are also utilising our Facebook group page and Google Drive to host video tutorials for some possible new material for the future, which seem to be useful mediums to help members who may not wish to, or be able to take part in the VM’s to access our musical content online.
It is far from ideal trying to operate in the virtual world, it is however the best that we can do at the minute unless and until this virus is either beaten or a cure is found, it does however give some of us an opportunity to ‘get together’ and have a chat and a laugh with friends we can’t actually meet up with yet.
There is room for about 15 cars so please park sensibly to allow everyone to get in .If you need to leave early arrive a bit late so that your car will be near the front of the Church .Also plenty of street parking ,a short walk from the Leisure Centre car park and Asda ,both £1 for two hours)
Alternate weeks we have a development class, the aim of which is to provide more support to all types of player from beginner onwards. The other week is more ad hoc, to provide opportunity for one to one instruction and also for more advanced members to be experimental.
The group is open to all - No previous experience required! We also have a couple of instruments spare for people to try before committing themselves.
If you have access to the Internet try looking up the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain on YouTube
