The Badminton group meet every Tuesday between 09.00 – 10.00 at the Uttoxeter Leisure Centre, Oldfields Road, ST14 7QL.
Badminton (Badders) Group
Hi everyone, for those of you who are unaware, the badminton group play every Tuesday morning at the Uttoxeter Leisure Centre between 09.00 – 10.00. Why so early? Apparently it frees up the rest of the day to do other things, it’s also when the Sports hall have a “free” spot. It’s quite a recent group having only started last September, we are a friendly bunch and would welcome anyone who would like to have a go at “Badders”. Even if you haven’t played before, or if you have then why not come along and join in the fun! Remember the first taster session is free, then £2 per week after that. As a guide we usually have 2 courts, 1 to play on and one to practice on. Coaching, mickey taking, enjoyment and taking part is what it’s all about. Loan racquets and Shuttlecocks can be provided where required. If you would like to try it out, drop me an email via the Blue Bird.
Note - It might prove useful to brink along a drink.
There is an on-site car park at the Leisure Centre, which is used around 09.00 by parents as a drop off point for Picknalls School, and can be quite busy. If travelling by car it might be best to park in Hockley Road, go over the level crossing and park on the left hand side – small layby in front of the houses and then walk a short distance through Bramshall Road Park to the Leisure Centre. The car park is a pay and display and the fee is refundable at the Reception for people who are using the Centre.
