UTTOXETER U3A XMAS XTRAVAGANZA 2019
LAST FEW TICKETS AVAILABLE-ON SALE AT COFEE MORNING WEDNESDAY 11TH
The U3A Committee is presenting an Xtravaganza, on 18th December, as a celebration of Christmas and to showcase the performance work being done by several groups. There will be entertainment from the drama, recorder, singing and ukulele groups; as well as a smorgasbord of refreshments to keep you going.
The event will start with mulled wine/soft drinks, and tables will be laden with a range of breads and cheeses, dips and nibbles. The programme consists of a dramatic presentation, complete with music and song; continue with a joint music piece; and sashay into a session from our own Ukulele Orchestra. There will be a break for more conversation , tea/coffee and mince pies - with music provided by the Recorder Group - and conclude with a session from the U3A Singers, whose programme includes some well-known carols.
A ticket will cost £3 and is priced to cover the cost of refreshments alone. There will only be 85 tickets available on general sale, because of the size of the Hall and the number of performers taking part, and they will be available from Wednesday 20th November at the Coffee Morning.
We do hope you will be able to join us. This is a unique occasion and enables us to celebrate Christmas, as well of the work being done by all our groups; as exemplified by the performers on show.
Pamela Merrett [Chairman] & Rob Hawkins [Business Manager]
As a result, there will be no Coffee Morning, on that date, but we hope that regulars will be joining us at the event.

|Thu Apr 30th||Outing||We have planned a visit to Bramall Hall in Stockport for the above date.|
Bramall Hall is one of Cheshire's grandest black and white timber-framed buildings. It is a manor house built in the traditional local style with its origins dating back to the middle ages.
Planning to arrive around 10.00/10.30 we will be greeted with tea/coffee before being taken on a private guided tour of the Hall which has recently completed a major restoration thanks to a £1.6 million grant from the Heritage Lottery.
The Hall, one of the most beautiful treasures of England, is of great national importance. The magnificent 16th Century wall paintings, striking Elizabethan plaster ceiling, the Victorian Kitchens and Servants’ Quarters give this Hall its unique charm.
Following the visit, we will depart to Tarporley Garden Centre where there will be time for lunch and a look round before we travel on to Reclaimed World.
Reclaimed World is a unique family run reclamation and antiques emporium, based close to Tarporley in the heart of Cheshire. It is three acres brimming with everything you’d expect to find at a quality reclamation centre.
We leave Tesco at 8.30am and plan to return to Uttoxeter by 6.00pm approximately.
The cost will be £24 which will be required in order to confirm your booking.
You can reserve your place by speaking to Maureen at coffee morning where more information is available. Alternatively, you can email Maureen Green by clicking on her name or ring 01889 560122.
