Cannock Chase U3A have issued a challenge to all U3A's to enter their Robot Challenge. Do we have any Engineers, Scientists or Interested Parties who enjoy tinkering with constructions and projects. There is not much time left now to get a Uttoxeter project going, but adaptations of a child's remote controlled buggy or the like would be acceptable.
ARE WE UP TO THE CHALLENGE ? If you are interested please contact Pamela Merrett for the Rules and Challenges I will put any interested parties in contact with each other.
The Challenge will be held on Thursday October 3rd 11am to 5pm. The venue is The White Eagle Club, Riverway, Stafford ST16 3TH.
Visitors and Spectators are very welcome on the day. Entry £2 including refreshments.
The next Magazine will be issued in December 2019. Those of you who have supplied an email address will continue to receive a monthly bulletin, should the need for one arise.
For those not on email, copies of the bulletin are available at the weekly Coffee Morning at Wilfred House. The Notice Board at Wilfred House also displays all the current information regarding new groups, trips etc., together with copies of administrative papers such as insurances, forms, meeting minutes etc.
Many thanks to those who have contributed to this session’s magazine. If you have any items you would like to submit which are relevant to U3A activities, such as photographs, group activities or outings, please contact the magazine editor Sue Ashton or phone her on 01283 820006
Mixed Group Participation
We have been treated to some excellent entertainment during November and December, with the Singers, Recorders, Ukuleles, Drama and Write & Rhyme groups all coming together. There was a moving tribute to the Servicemen and women who lost their lives during WW1 in November, and a short play and Christmas songs in December. Many thanks to all those who took part, and to the group leaders who enable our members to participate.
We have been asked to advise our members that the Hall will be opening for more days next year and will be looking for more volunteers. They will be holding a series of meetings etc., with more information. We will keep you informed.
At the end of May 2018, the UK regulations on personal data protection are being updated and there are a couple of things that we should bring to your notice. We hold and use personal information necessary to provide you with U3A services relevant to your membership. We have successfully done so for 15 years in a secure and confidential manner. We hold your name & address plus your email address and telephone numbers where you have elected to provide them and your optional election for gift aid. There will be no changes to this system except to make it clear that you have the right to see an extract of the information we hold and to opt in or out of email, telephone or postal communications [but not all]. We don’t hold, or propose to hold, any further information that is not necessary for your enjoyment of Uttoxeter & District U3A.
Occasionally pictures are taken at U3A group meetings, coffee mornings etc .Please make the taker aware if you do NOT wish to be included in the picture
