APRIL 22nd. Yes - the birthday of Robert Oppenhemer, Jack Nicholson and Vladimir Putin. But to us, here in Uttoxeter, it's the date we restart our Reading for Pleasure classes. These are held every Monday, 2.00-3.00pm, at the Quaker Meeting House (next to Wilfred House). In every session, each member gives a short (2-3 minute) reading from a source (novel, poem, newspaper, obituary...) Usually, this is on an agreed topic, but for the first meeting it is OPEN. Do come along to meet the friendliest group since ...well, 'Friends'.
All for two measly u3a quid. Beats Smirnoff any day.
We gather at the Quaker Meeting House (next door to Wilfred House in Carter Street), every Monday from 2pm to 3pm. So, bring any short reading (in any format) that has tickled your fancy.
If you want further information, contact Ian - phone and email info as above.
