This is a shared group with Hertford-New members welcome!
Applied Psychology takes a very practical view of the topic and uses members collective knowledge to discuss a very wide range of topics in terms of how they affect us and the world around us. We are an open and friendly crowd. Sessions are thought provoking and always fun. We take it in turns each month to introduce a topic and host the group in our homes. We don't follow a scheme of study. Instead topics vary from month to month depending upon someone's interest in a particular subject, an article in a newspaper or a book on the topic someone has read. Part of the meeting centres around an activity - often involving breaking up into small discussion groups before all of us come together towards the end of the session to share learning and points of interest. We also use video footage like TedTalks from time to time to supplement learning and inspire discussion. No expertise in psychology is required to join the group. Just an interest in the topic. None of us are experts although some of us have studied the topic in the past or have worked as counsellors or psychology teachers.
