New Members

Welcome, we are glad you decided to join us. Here is a little initial information to get you started.

New Members Meeting (presently via Zoom)

Pauline Glenister, our New Members co-ordinator, will be in touch soon to invite you to an informal introductory meeting. This is a great opportunity to meet other joiners and ask any questions: try not to miss it.

Monthly Meetings for all members and their guests (£2 for non members), currently on Zoom.

You will receive a Zoom link in an email from John Hammond, our vice chairman, a few days before each meeting. The Zoom meetings are usually recorded and may be viewed online for a short time.

We have a different visiting speaker each month with a great variety of topics covered. Before and after the talk you can visit the desks set up around the room which include some group sign up desks and especially for you, the new members desk! Light refreshments are available and included. Dates and details are on the “Meetings” page. Please remember to bring your membership card along with you.

Other ad hoc Meetings/talks open to all

These might be just for Ware u3a, jointly with other u3as or arranged by the national u3a. Details of these will appear on the “Events” page

Groups (some are presently meeting via Zoom or in abeyance)

Our groups are organised by members for members with the help of our Groups Co-ordinator, John Hammond, if required. Each group has a "leader" who manages the group and liaises with the committee. You can browse the current list on the “groups” page and if you are interested in a particular group, you should make contact with the group leader in the first instance as numbers are sometimes limited by space at venues, especially when meeting in members homes, and there may be other constraints.

Groups currently looking for members include:

******************

If you have an interest you would like to pursue and that is not currently on our list or the current group is full, let us know and we will consider starting a new group.

Outings - open to all

Whilst some groups arrange their own outings, other trips are open to all on a first come first served basis. These include day coach trips, garden visits, holidays and more. They are listed on the "Events" page.

Newsletters

Ware u3a usually produces a packed newsletter monthly to keep us up-to-date. However the need for this diminished during the lockdowns, and so we now receive a monthly email from Jan Wing, our chairman, still with plenty of useful information - as well as a weekly quiz from John Hammond.
