Pen 2 Paper
The Pen 2 Paper creative writing group meets from 10.30 to 12.30 on the last Monday of each month. We are a group of people who enjoy writing, reading, discussing each other’s work and providing constructive feedback in areas such as style, creativity or characterisation. We also give support and encouragement to members who wish to pursue their creative writing efforts beyond the monthly meetings of the group, such as by entering a writing competition or submitting something for publication.
Our written work is diverse, ranging from fiction to memoirs or personal history accounts. Members take it in turns to offer a theme for the next month and topics have included: Déja Vu; The Introduction; Discovery; and The Letter. The theme can lead to a stand-alone story (usually around 1,500 words) or a memoir, or a chapter of a book or larger piece of work a member might be considering. Members also have the flexibility to circulate something different for the group’s comments. For example, a piece of writing that has impressed or gripped us in some way, or something on which we are presently working.
Our current membership of 8 is the maximum we can manage when meeting in the group leader’s home.
