Lichfield

Philosophy 3

Lichfield U3A has three highly active Philosophy Groups, each meeting on a specific day of every month. The Groups comprise members from a wide range of backgrounds, but all with a common interest in philosophy, a desire to try to understand the subject but an open mind that this is not always possible.

Philosophy 3 meets on the fourth Friday am.

In October, a joint meeting of the three groups was convened at Erasmus Darwin House, where the acclaimed philosopher A C Grayling gave a fascinating talk entitled “Democracy and Its Crisis”. It was hoped that this talk could become an annual event in Lichfield’s cultural calendar and plans are now coming together for the Second Lichfield U3A Annual Philosophy Seminar in September, when Professor Helen Steward, will be talking. Professor Steward has been attributed to being one of the “50 Most Influential Living Philosophers.
