Lichfield U3A offers a wide variety of over 60 friendly and informal interest and activity groups. Through these, members organise and take part in an exciting range of activities and interests. You may find just the opportunity you have been waiting for, to try out something new, or to develop your skills, within a friendly supportive group.
To find out more about a particular group, and for contact information, click on the relevant title in the table below. This gives you access to the individual group’s webpage. If you want to follow up for more details, or if you want to join a group, contact the group leader via the CONTACT link at the top of the their page and leave a message.
If you are not sure what you would like to do and wish to speak to someone then contact Martin Hellawell via the CONTACT page.
We have included in the LINKS page, two charts - these are contained on the link "Group Meeting Details." This link shows the Group Meetings Programme and Group Meetings on a Day by Day Basis. These charts enable readers to have an overview of group meeting days and times before they click into the individual group pages.
During the year groups are subject to closing and new ones starting and therefore the two charts may not reflect the latest status of the groups so please check the list below.
Although Lichfield U3A offers a wide variety of over 60 special interest and activity groups, there is always scope for more!
Please see our Potential New Groups in the list below for ideas of groups that are wishing to set up.
Do you have an idea for an interest/activity that you would like to pursue, but it is not currently available within Lichfield U3A? Would you be willing to meet up with others who might have a similar interest? If so, ask the group Co-ordinator (via the CONTACT tab) to contact all members to see if there is anyone else in Lichfield U3A who would like to find out more about it and to consider being part of a proposed new group. Or you might already know at least one other person who shares your interest - if so, that is the foundation for a New Group and this can be built upon. Ask the group Co-Ordinator for help.
Perhaps there is a group in Lichfield that you would like to join but it is already full?
There might be other members who are in a similar position who would consider starting up a new group. We have many examples of more than one group within single areas of interest or activity e.g. Art Appreciation, Poetry – Contact the Group Co-Ordinator (via the CONTACT tab) if you need help with this.
