Music Appreciation
We hold our meetings on the first Thursday of the month from 2pm until 4pm and very much welcome new members.
The group has been running since 1996, holding meetings in a member’s house, then moving to Cruck House. At present we meet in a room at Lichfield Methodist Church, Backcester Lane which is fully accessible and there is parking nearby.
Members, and some visitors, alternate in turns to give a presentation every month during the year, except in August. Often the presentation is themed, but this is not a stipulation. We have our own hi-fi equipment.
Members kindly add their name to a tea rota in order to ensure we all enjoy a “welcome cuppa” during the interval that falls midway through the meeting.
Each presenter has total freedom of choice as to the music played. We regularly hear pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras and have even heard some jazz and “pop” music of late!
