Lichfield

Orchestra Group

We are a flexible ensemble of amateur musicians who enjoy performing a varied repertoire of light classical and modern studio arrangements.

We meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2-4pm at St Chad’s Church Hall, Giffords Croft, Lichfield.

We are friendly and inclusive and currently have a membership of 25. We actively seek to welcome new members who can play any string, woodwind or brass instrument to approximately at least Grade 5 standard. We are particularly interested in recruiting confident violin players and percussionists. You should be able to play confidently in both major and minor scales of up to three flats or sharps. You should be willing to do some home practice in order to master your music. Membership is confirmed following a short period of induction.

The orchestra performs in public to wide acclaim and recent performances include the Lichfield Fuse Festival, the Shenstone Festival and at Hawkesyard Priory. There are always exciting projects underway.
