Cycling Group
Interest Group leader: Nigel White
Meeting information: The group will generally meet on the 3rd Friday of every Month.
Meeting venue: Various in Hillingdon
If you are interested in cycling and would like to ride with fellow cyclists around the locality then contact Nigel White to be added to his group list. He will then be able to keep you informed of future planned rides.
Routes will be planned in advance which will take us on a combination of roads, tracks and woods.
Please remember to always check your bikes before a ride. Check the air pressure in the tyres, check the brakes are working and adjusted correctly and keep the chain lightly oiled.
So we look forward to seeing you on future rides, we're sure they will be good fun!

Fri May 17th | Cycling from Ruislip to Watford Meet: 10:00am for a 10:15 prompt start Our next ride, will take us to Watford which is just eight miles squared. It's a town with old and new and has a thriving town centre, a Premiership football team, theatres and award-winning parks including Cassiobury, one of the nation’s top 10 parks. Something for everyone in this Herts-cum-London town. The ride will be about 10 miles each way mainly on tow paths, tracks and cycle paths together with some roads. There are 3 places where people could catch the train back from if they want a shorter ride. We will be meeting outside Ruislip Station for a 10:15am departure and it goes without saying that you need to be wearing appropriate clothing (including hi-viz) and your bike needs to be in a well maintained roadworthy condition. Thanks to Malcolm Barwick for planning the route. For more details and be included, contact Nigel. |
Sun May 26th | A Date for your Diaries The annual Ford RideLondon Freecycle event which the group are planning to take part in. It's a great opportunity to cycle round a traffic free route and explore central London by bike (and it's free!). The route includes St Pauls Cathedral, Somerset House, Buckingham Palace and The Mall (and much more). If this interests you then let Nigel know so he can gauge how big a u3a group would be. |
