Poetry for Pleasure

Meeting information: We meet 3rd Friday in the month from 2.00 to 4.00pm
Meeting venue: Ickenham.
As the title says, poetry for our Group pleasure, suitable for all levels.
At present this is a small group. We read and discuss 3 or 4 poems from the canon of English literature, ancient, modern and contemporary.
We are now branching out into poetry in translation and American poetry.
The poems are selected and printed by the group leader and are intended to be challenging, in order to encourage analysis of poetic form and discussion of content.
No preparation is required; however, as there is wifi access at the URC, members can use their tablets/phones for background research during the course of the meeting.
