Parliamo Italiano?
At the beginning of 2020 we had started a well supported Italian Beginners Group. Before it could get really well established meetings were curtailed due to lockdown. Membership has gone down to four but the leader Barbara Mccrea is keen to get it going again in the New Year. The current members are willing to go back to the start and repeat their first few sessions and would like to invite anyone who would like to learn Italian to join them.
Italian is a major European language, being one of the official languages of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and one of the working languages of the Council of Europe. It is the third most widely spoken first language in the European Union with 65 million native speakers.
As a beginners group, we have little or no knowledge of Italian and we aim to learn conversation, listening, written and reading skills as well as grammar. We are a friendly group and we learn in a light hearted way enjoying looking at different aspects of Italy including tourism, food, culture and history.
