Garden Appreciation 3

Interest Group leader: Lynn Ronayne-Belhadj
Meeting inormation: Meets 2pm to 4pm on 2nd Wednesday of the month except when a visit is planned.
Meeting venue: Ickenham.

The program includes talks by members and invited speakers, videos of gardens visited by members and group discussion on specific garden topics.
In summer we visit public, private and members gardens. Coach trips are arranged to places of interest.

Suitable for all levels.

Wed 5th & Thur 6th JuneRHS Chatsworth, Bakewell - Lynn will be driving to RHS Chatsworth show with some ladies and will be staying in the Rutland Arms Hotel in Bakewell. This will allow us time to see the famous flower show and visit the grounds. If you are interested then contact Lynn ASAP.
Thur 20th JuneDavid Austin Roses visit in Albrighton, Wolverhampton. Cost: a very reasonable £51 for the entry fee, guided tour, buffet lunch and coach. (Please advise if any of any dietary requirements at the time of the booking.).Probably the most beautiful Rose Garden in the world with more than 700 different varieties of Roses planted in 2 acres which is divided into smaller areas each with its own style. Includes the Long Garden, the Victorian walled garden and Renaissance Garden. We have been able to book and extended private Luncheon Tour.
Wed 25th SeptemberNT Churchill's Chartwell House near Seven Oaks - £19 pp Coach (various pickups depending on demand) if you are an NT member as enterance to House & Gardens are free, or £33 pp for non NT members (incl coach). A delightful visit to the family home of Winston Churchill. The rooms remain much as they were when he lived here. The Gardens, lakes, kitchen garden and Rose walk all reflect Sir Winston's love of the landscape and nature. Departure time will be on the E-Ticket or outing slip.
Note...For 15th May, 20th June & 28th Sept trips, confirmation is needed ASAP. You can do this by filling in and returning the form (I will have some forms at the Wednesday meeting). Cheques can be submitted in accordance with email instructions. Alternatively, you can reserve a place, pay on line or download the application form from the HPS Middlesex website. For all the trips we will need payment at least 6 weeks in advance to be able to confirm your place.

We will also be organising NGS (National Garden Scheme) U3A group garden visits in July and August 2019. Details will follow later
