Hillingdon

German Beginners

Staufen, on the edge of the Black Forest

Interest Group leader: Christine Campisi
Meeting information: We meet 2pm to 4pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month except in August when there are no meetings.
Meeting venue: Ickenham.

The German beginners group is suitable for absolute beginners who don’t mind doing a little bit of catching up, those who tried to learn German previously and would like to try again, and those who learned it in the past, but feel too rusty to join an intermediate group.

German is a major European language, it is one of the three working languages of the European Union and it is the most widely spoken first language of the EU with 100 million native speakers.

The aim of the group is to learn the language by following two courses, “Talk German”, which is a BBC Publication and “Living German: A Grammar-Based Course”, which is published by John Murray Learning, 7th edition. Both courses include CDs, which help us to use spoken German as well as learning the grammar.

This Group is one of three focussed on the German Language.
