Music Makers

NEW GROUP - MUSIC MAKERS

This new folk music group is up and running. It is aimed at members who can play an instrument and enjoy playing traditional, folk and country music. The group will also aim to explore and practise a variety of techniques, harmonising and building its own arrangements of songs.

The sessions will be held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

We currently have ten members who play a range of instruments including small pipes, piano accordion, penny whistle, ukulele, guitar and percussion. We are starting to introduce harmonies in our singing too. We are looking forward to expanding our repertoire over the next few sessions to include a wide range of folk and traditional songs.

A range of instruments encouraged and welcomed include, guitar, bodhran, banjo, fiddle, ukulele, accordion, harmonica and recorder.
