Couples Lunch
Dave and Jean Angus have offered to start a new Group for Stanford le Hope and District u3a called “Couples Lunch”. This will be a monthly meeting for couples who are both Members of Stanford le Hope and District u3a. Initially limiting the Group to 15 couples, all of whom will need to be on email and have their own transport as no transport is being provided, and we see how things go.
Once 15 couples have expressed an interest in joining this new Group we will, each month, book a different restaurant in the Thurrock area or “just over the borders” into other areas of Essex. Details of the restaurant will be sent via email to all of the 15 couples who need to indicate if they will be attending the next lunch or not so that Dave and Jean can book numbers accordingly. Couples will pay on the day and decide how many courses they choose to have. There will not be a need to pay anything to Dave and Jean as all the payment will be made direct to the restaurant at each monthly lunch meeting. If we find there is a need for a deposit to be paid to a restaurant, we will sort this out as the meets are arranged.
The plan is to meet on the last Thursday of every month booking tables for 1pm at the chosen restaurant, details of which will have been circulated via email to all the Couples Lunch Group Members. Dave and Jean will be at the chosen restaurant at 12.45pm so that we can all meet for a drink and a chat before sitting at the tables that will have been booked.
Dave and Jean thought this would be an opportunity for Members who are Couples to meet each other informally and have a chat while enjoying a nice meal.
