Sketching and Painting
We meet on the third Monday morning of the month at 10am or 9.30am if we require an earlier start.
If you would like to join us, but feel you lack the skills, please do not let this stop you as you may already have higher ability than anyone in the existing group. Grab a pencil and a sketching pad and come along for a few hours in the countryside with like-minded people. Below is our plans for the next few months.
Some of our pictures are available on the right hand side.
One of the leaders of this group is having to step down and if the group is to function another new leader will have to step forward. The calendar of sketching venues is always decided upon by the members of the group at the March meeting and is not the sole responsibility of the leaders. The tasks the leaders have to carry out are:
- Checking with the place we are due to visit before the relevant date if required.
- Contacting members to remind them of the meeting the week beforehand.
- Informing the Treasurer on 4 occasions a year that we do not collect in any money so have no accounts to send him.
Please consider if you would be prepared to become a leader of this group - in order that it can continue. Ideally, we need two people to put themselves forward so that they can split the tasks or lead when the other person can't make a sketching session. Help and guidance will be available if needed. To make it simple, it has been decided, that all members of the group should let the leaders know whether or not they are going to turn up to a session. The preferred method of contact would be by phone – either by call or text. If you are a member of the Sketching and Painting group and find it easier to be contacted by phone please let the leaders know and make sure they have your phone details.
Margaret Schofield has agreed to run the group a couple more times - after which if there is no one else coming forward to lead it - the group will fold.
Please contact by email Margaret for more information.
