MEETINGS
The monthly meeting takes place on the afternoon of the second Thursday of the month at The Springhouse, Sport and Function Suite, Springhouse Road, Corringham, SS17 8QT.

Doors open at 1.45pm and the meeting commences at 2:00pm. Please can members help us by not arriving at the Hall until 1.30pm which is the time from which we have the Hall officially booked. Committee Members and Speakers need time to set up the room to be able to deal with things such as the projector, attendance, membership and distribution of Newsletters.

Admittance to the General Meetings is by membership card only (insurance reasons) If you forget your card you will need to sign in with John Green, the membership Secretary.
Please also note we have a practice to prevent MOBILE PHONES sounding during our meetings. This is both disruptive and distracting to the person speaking to us and to other members close by. We would prefer you to turn OFF your phone but accept there are circumstances where it may be required to be on. In this case please ensure it is set to SILENT and it may be advantageous for you to seat yourself towards the rear of the hall.

Ambling
Thu Nov 28th Aw. it's the last amble of the year, so make sure you can come and get some exercise in, before the smorgasbord of the festive season arrives. You won't get another chance until the new year, you know.
We are rounding off our year of ambles by roaming round the rounded paths of Westley Heights, High Road, Basildon SS16 6HU (also known as Langdon Hills Country Park, although no one calls it that). We will meet in the car park (not the Miller and Carter one, the one further down the lane) at 11am - please note the later time - otherwise you won't get your coffees and teas afterwards, on Thursday 28th November. Look forward to seeing you there.

Fri Jan 24th 2020 I have decided to pause activities until next year, 2020 when our first outing will be on Friday 24th January to the Hayward Gallery to see the major retrospective of the 70 years of Bridget Riley’s work.
I am also hoping that our members will let me know if there is anything that they will want to see next year.

Rambling
Thu Nov 21st

Thorndon Park South
This is a pleasant walk mostly on footpaths so should be ideal for this time of the year.
I'm proposing that we meet in the Half Way House car park on the A127. This is also accessible from the A128 (1st left after the junction roundabout and then immediately left again) and car share up to the Country Park. *We can share the parking costs*
I thought that this would be an ideal spot to have a pre-Christmas lunch for those that would like to join us. I will book us a large table and confirm the numbers to the pub once we have all convened.
Hopefully the sun will shine upon us and we will have a good walk.
Meeting time 10:30
