Local History
The Local History Group will meet once a month, from 2 pm to 4 pm on the last Monday of each month (except for bank holiday Monday’s)
We meet at the Evangelical Church Hall 45,Fobbing road which is just past the Fire Station. There is a large cross at the front of the building so easily spotted.
Full details of the visits we planned will be emailed to members of the group nearer the time. If you are not a member and would like details of any of the trips, please let me know. Any members can take part but please book with Barbara.
In addition we will be visiting local places of historical interest as and when; normally one visit a month but this will be flexible. Future visits could be further afield. We will use either public transport or drive to the venues. Costs will vary.
I am currently trying to persuade our members to talk about growing up in the area. If you feel you could come and talk to us please let me know.

- Local churches including: Grays, Vange, Laindon St Nicholas
- Tilbury Fort
We have visited some of these venues before but we have new members who expressed an interest in these places If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
All of the above are subject to availability and on dates to be agreed.
Julia Harding has moved out of the area and I have volunteered to take over from her with the help of other members of the group.
At out first meeting of 2020 I suggest we talk about what we want from our group so please can you think about this and come with ideas. New members will also be welcome come
