Rambling
The Ramblers meet on the 4th Thursday of the month at 10.30. and walk for between 3 and 5 miles.
We leave promptly at the published time and the only cost that maybe incurred is possibly for parking.
I try to find a place to eat somewhere close to the start/end of the walk for those that would like to lunch or have some refreshment.
As the route of our walk can be varied suitable clothing, footwear and waterproofs would be recommended and maybe a change of clothing.
Any u3a member who is interested can just turn up for the walks as printed in the newsletter.
More information about our next Ramble see below.
I can be contacted by email at Christine Gomm or telephone 07905 117622

Thu Mar 28th | The Three Chafford Gorges Our March ramble will be around the Three Chafford Gorges. The Gorges are a surprising oasis in an otherwise urban environment as I'm sure that anyone who joins us will agree. This is a more hilly walk than usual with some steps but the reward is a mixture of lakes, woodland and open spaces. We will meet in the car park of the Chafford Gorges Nature Reserve. The address is: Drake Road, Chafford Hundred RM16 6RG. As there is a café nearby where we'll be able to look forward to some refreshments once we've finished our walk. Please contact Christine Gomm for further information |
Thu Apr 25th | Benfleet Station to Leigh on Sea We will meet outside the ticket office of Benfleet Railway Station on Thursday 25th May, commencing our walk at 10:50 For those wishing to travel by train we will meet at Stanford Le Hope Station at 10:15 to catch the 10:30 train. This train arrives in Benfleet at 10:42. Anyone that has previously done this walk will know how very pleasant it is with views over Two tree Island and Hadleigh Castle. There are several nice pubs in Leigh where I'm hoping you will be able to join me for lunch. Once we've been fed and watered we'll head to Leigh-On-Sea station and catch the train for our return home. Contact : Christine Gomm for further information. |
