Stanford-Le-Hope & District

Ambling

The Amblers meet on the last Thursday of the month at 10.30 and walk for around 2 miles.

We leave promptly at the published time and the only cost that maybe incurred is possibly for parking.

We will try to find a place to eat somewhere close to the start/end of the walk for those that would like to lunch.

As the route of our walk can be varied suitable clothing, footwear and waterproofs would be recommended. I would also suggest that walkers carry some water and maybe a light snack.

Any U3A member who is interested can turn up for the walks as printed in the previous months newsletter or advertised here on the EVENTS page.

Some details of our previous walks with pictures can be seen in the links column on the right. We welcome everyone who would like to come and join us on our ambles.

A recent walk is shown in pictures taken at Thornton Country Park
A combined walk for Amblers & Ramblers in December is shown in pictures Coalhouse Fort

The Amblers group had their March amble at Stanford Nature Reserve on a blustery, damp morning. The rain stopped by the time we began our walk, so we had a good amble along the paths looking out over the estuary and along the Hassenbrook, which flows through the reserve. Afterwards we stopped for hot drinks at the Gateway café in Stanford." we took some pictures Stanford Nature Reserve

Dates for your Diary
Thu Nov 28th Aw. it's the last amble of the year, so make sure you can come and get some exercise in, before the smorgasbord of the festive season arrives. You won't get another chance until the new year, you know.
We are rounding off our year of ambles by roaming round the rounded paths of Westley Heights, High Road, Basildon SS16 6HU (also known as Langdon Hills Country Park, although no one calls it that). We will meet in the car park (not the Miller and Carter one, the one further down the lane) at 11am - please note the later time - otherwise you won't get your coffees and teas afterwards, on Thursday 28th November. Look forward to seeing you there.
