The Play Reading group meets Friday afternoon approximately every six weeks and we have twelve members.
The play we read last Friday was entitled "A Stroke of Luck." It sounds a bit morbid but was so amusing... It was about a man who had had a stroke and wrote a play about his experience.. We met the nurse in hospital who was jollying him along and three crabby cynical patients on the ward ... His partner whose only care was to become pregnant before she was any older.....
There was a little swearing and much laughter ....I never know what the play is about when I get it from the library so each time it's an unknown experience.
The later pictures were taken with us reading 'Mixed Doubles' The first one was taken at our first play reading session of 2016.
We really enjoyed reading Agatha Christie’s ‘Afternoon at the Seaside’ ..with the inevitable twist at the end.
We continue to read a selection of books and each one engenders a lot of laughter and /or discussion. If anyone is interested in joining a group talk to Julie. I am sure there is room for a third group.
