DIY & Hobbies
This is a new group we are developing where members can learn and learn new skills for future DIY, Hobbies or projects within a safe working and encouraging environment.
Training and guidance will be given initially to members to ensure they are confident about using machines and other hand tools as safety in the workshop is of paramount importance.
Suggestions for projects will be offered, as well as advice in repairing or refurbishing things that members would like to do.
The workshop is situated within the Yate Men’s Shed in the Parish Hall on Station Road, where we have a number of shed members who are always happy to share knowledge of a wide range of skills from electronics, carpentry, engineering, motor mechanics, computer aided design, 3D printing, welding, design etc.
Initially, this new group will meet on Wednesday morning from 0900-1200 at Yate Parish Hall at a cost of £3 per week, but other times are available for extended projects and workshop access when members are sufficiently trained.
Training will be given alongside making suggested projects.
Unfortunately, only a maximum of 8 can be in the workshop at one time.
