Strollers
Leader | Wendy |
Meeting pattern | Every Friday throughout the year |
Venue | Varies Not currently meeting face-to-face |
The Strollers Group meets every Friday throughout the year and endeavours to take members to beautiful areas of the countryside within a 15 mile radius of Wells. Use is made of local buses where feasible but, more often, shared cars are organised to more-out-of-the-way places.
The walks vary in length according to the terrain and taking into account weather conditions. Usually the walks last about one and half hours but from time to time longer ones are put in the programme. On the other hand, walks are shortened if it is inclement – flexibility being important to the group.
Boots are essential and walking poles are often helpful when negotiating difficult ground.
There is no prior commitment to join a walk, just note the starting place and time – also published in the What’s On section of the Wells Journal every week – and turn up if you feel like it.
We are a friendly bunch and encourage all who stroll with us.
The Strollers Group is run by committee, including three regular stroll leaders, although we encourage more to lead, even an occasional stroll.
If you think that this group might suit you, please contact us using details provided in Wells U3A Newsletter (Currently No. 72 Autumn 2018, Page 38).
