|Meeting pattern||1st Tuesday, 10:00|
|Venue||Coxley Memorial Hall|
First of all tremendous thanks are due to David B, who has led our group so admirably for the last 11 years. I will indeed have a difficult job taking over from him in January 2017. However, we are keen to keep the same ethos going and have already planned the programme for the first half of next year with five members already committed to give talks to the group and a visit to the Somerset Waste Partnership Anaerobic Digestion Plant at Walpole provisionally booked for July. During our December meeting we expect to flesh out the rest of the year’s programme and will add all these to the U3A website once the details are finalised.
As David mentioned the group is essentially full, with 12 members, but we welcome visits from potential members who want to join a waiting list or find out how to set up their own group.
The meetings will continue to be on the first Tuesday of each month, from 10.00 am to 12 noon.
Visit to Dungeon Farm , August 2015
Our group visited Dungeon Farm, Croscombe to see the Biomass Boiler that has been installed to provide heat to chicken houses.Sufficient power is generated to fulfil this task and surplus electricity is fed back to the National Grid.
