Book Group 2
|Meeting pattern||3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30am|
Since our last report we have been to Civil War Spain with Hemingway in For Whom the Bell Tolls, Under London with Peter Ackroyd, across the channel with Salley Vickers and The Cleaner of Chartres and over to the States to explore medical ethics and family dynamics with Jodi Picoult and My Sister’s Keeper, and we are now fearfully enthralled in the threat of being hunted in Geoffrey Household’s Rogue Male. Through the summer we have had an average attendance of 8 or 9 which makes for a good forum for lively discussion to which we bring our different experiences, attitudes, opinions and approaches to reading – always a well-spent morning!
We look forward to tackling Brideshead, Operation Mincemeat and Marcel Pagnol’s A Time of Secrets, A Time of Love before Christmas.
