Who do you think you are?
Are you interested in your family history? Are there family stories handed down you would like to explore? Do you know where you family came from and what they did? Would you be interested in finding long lost relatives?
Whether you have already started to look into your family history, or are a complete beginner, would you be interested in joining a new genealogy group?
Following a successful initial meeting, coupled with additional interest, some 20+ members have already confirmed an interest in this new group.
We have a wide range of experience within the group, from seasoned genealogists to complete beginners, so to ensure everyone gets something from the group, it is proposed that it is structured on a 3-month revolving basis as follows:
In months 1 and 2, utilising the library meeting rooms and computers/information
- The experienced members meet as a group once a month
- The less experienced and beginners meet as a group once a month
- The less experienced and beginners pair with a more experienced member and work on a 1 to 1, or 1 to a few basis on their individual family tree/research
In month 3, the whole group meets, with either a talk in a larger venue or site visit
