Creative Writing
Who is the Creative Writing group for?
Whether you’re a beginner or a published writer you are welcome to contact Rachel about joining this group. The aim will be to spend enjoyable time reading and discussing writing, in a number of different genres: poetry; short stories or plays (or extracts from plays); non-fiction (as in diaries, journals, factual accounts of events.)
Those who have no experience of creative writing, but would like to see if it is for them are welcome, while more experienced writers might wish to join the group to develop their writing and encourage others.
When?
Meetings will be held once a month in the mornings, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the group leader’s home in Needingworth. The next meeting is on 2 May.
The idea is to get together for discussion and sharing writing if people want to, perhaps watching of parts of inspiring videos. (A rota for coffee and tea and biscuits is being made.)
Notes
For more information, or suggestions, please contact Rachel via email by clicking on the blue envelope.
We will aim for brevity in writing (even if you are writing your memoirs!) and further, there will be no pressure to share your writing if you do not wish to.
Here is a quote from a similar group:
“We have all enjoyed writing and sharing stories and poems on all sorts of subjects, including ‘the past is a foreign country’, memories, journeys, family, nature ….etc”
