Art Club
Art Club is a social group, which meets for tea/coffee/etc. once a month to discuss the results of members creative efforts. You do not have to be an ˜Artist" to join the group, all ability levels are welcome. The idea for Art Club is based on an aspect of Grayson Perry's TV show, 'Grayson's Art Club'.
Art Club first met in September 2022 and has met every month since that time (with the exception of August). A theme, (eg.'Celebration', 'Through the window', 'Dreams'), is set at the monthly meeting and each member produces a piece of art work at home, which is presented at the following meeting. The presentation is informal and conversational. Members can describe the thought processes which led to their interpretation of the theme and to their outcome. Please look at the PHOTOGRAPHS on this site to see some of the work which has been produced.
There are fourteen members in the group and we meet in the front room of the Golden Lion Hotel, 10.00-12.00. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month. There are no room hire costs but (as the room is free), we purchase coffee/tea/etc. from the hotel.
