Poetry
The next meeting of the Poetry Group will be on Friday 12th April, in the usual venue at Broom Church, from 10.15 to 12.15. To conclude our studies of the Regency poets, we will look at "My Father Asleep" by Vincent Hunt, about his father, Leigh Hunt, the poet and journalist who was a good friend to both Keats and Coleridge. Then we will move forward to the 1930s and the humorous, often satirical poems of John Betjeman, taking in some discussion about the many literary and artistic figures who were his friends. As always, class participation will be most welcome.
