Birdwatching Group
This is a recently re-formed group which plans to meet on the second Thursday of the month. The meeting start time will generally be 10:00am, unless otherwise advertised.
Our first meeting was held on Thursday 11th May at Abberton Reservoir.
We decided not to meet during the summer months and our second visit was held on 14th September, when we visited Hanningfield Reservoir.
Our third visit took place on Thursday 12th October when we visited Fingringhoe Wick.
Our fourth, on 9th November was a return visit to Abberton Reservoir, and our final meeting of 2023, on 14th December, was to Heybridge Basin.
Our first visit in 2024 took place on 11th January when we revisited Hanningfield Reservoir.
Unfortunately our February visit had to be cancelled due to bad weather, but our March visit took the form of a return visit to Heybridge Basin.
Our April meeting was held at EWT Fingringhoe Wick and took the form of a excellent presentation on bird song identification by Liz Huxley, followed by a guided walk with Liz to test our newfound skills.
