Witham & District (Essex)

Our Groups

For all issues regarding Joining Groups, please contact Either the appropriate Group Leader, or the Groups Co-ordinator, Jane Barton via the Blue Bird link, (RH side of page)

Our friendly groups usually meet in informal settings, which is sometimes a member’s home. Groups can vary in size from 4 or 5 up to the mid 20’s - depending on the subject.

Group Co-ordinators share their area of interest or knowledge with like-minded members; they are not necessarily experts, just enthusiasts who respond to the wishes of the group.

We are always looking to start new groups, so we welcome your ideas!

If you would like to start/lead a group, please contact the Groups Co-ordinator.

All members are invited to attend any groups which interest them, subject to availability of places. Occasionally a group will have a waiting list, as the number that can be accommodated may be limited by the size of the venue or the nature of the activities. It is essential, therefore, to contact the Group leader or Group Co-ordinator in advance.

Please show your membership card when joining a group.

The Committee has been asked about guidelines for Walking Groups.

We recommend all group members discuss this, and if thought necessary, to form their own guidelines, as appropriate to their activities.

One area of concern is an emergency situation.
It would be helpful if members carried contact details of their next of kin and any existing medical information that may be required by the ambulance service.

Guidelines need to be reviewed at regular intervals.

A list of our groups is given below. Most groups meet once a month, some twice, and a few more frequently. Just click on the name of any group for a brief description of its activities.
If you would like to join a group, ask for more information or suggest new ideas, please contact the group leader- details given on the page

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST HAVE AN UP TO DATE MEMBERSHIP BEFORE YOU CAN JOIN ANY INTEREST GROUP
