Witham & District (Essex)

Carpet Bowls

This is a relatively new group so all members are getting used to the sport and the best way to play it.

The woods are much smaller than those used in outdoor green bowls and the rinks are shorter.

Indeed, the sport needs a gentle touch.

We meet on the third Thursday of every month from 10am to noon in the sports hall of the United Reformed Church in the centre of Witham.

There are two mats, allowing us to grade the players on each one and provide training and coaching where necessary.

Complete beginners are very welcome.

Group Leader is Ray Hardisty. Contact him by clicking on the bluebird in the top right hand corner of the page.

Next meeting Thursday January 17.
