Fingringhoe Wick - October 2023

Our October Group visit was to Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Park, where the weather marked an abrupt end of the wonderfully warm and dry spell we had been enjoying.

We started our visit with a trip to the Visitor Centre where we enjoyed a warming coffee whilst watching the rain through the window and being delighted by the appearance of a colourful cock pheasant and visitors to the bird feeders.

Eventually the rain eased and we made our way firstly to the Crawshaw Hide, followed by the Geedon Bay Hide.

Although not the best visibility for bird spotting we were lucky enough the record approximately 23 species. I say approximately because as non experts we probably saw more than we were able to identify!

Our visit concluded with a return visit to the Visitor Centre for more coffee and a snack.

A few photographs are attached, including a few 'extras' taken at Abberton Reservoir by John Foote on his and Sue's way back home.
