Latin Beginners
At present there are two groups - Beginners and Intermediate.
The Beginners Latin Group was launched with nine keen members, in 2021 and meets at The Christopher Centre in Sudbury on alternate Friday mornings from 10am until 12noon. Members are studying Cambridge Latin Course Book 2, fourth edition, which is set in Roman Britain, second hand copies of which are freely available from eBay and similar sites. There are vacancies and new members are welcomed. Since the course has been running for some time, a basic knowledge of Latin is needed.
If interested, please contact Jennie Leech on 01787 373684.
The Intermediate Latin Group continues to go from strength to strength. Members have completed Cambridge Latin Course Book 3, then have taken a sideways step to look into De Romanis, dei et deae (Gods and Goddesses) published by Bloomsbury which focuses on Roman gods and religion, and uses an integrated approach with a range of support materials available on line. They are now tackling Cambridge Latin Book 4 which is based on events in the city of Rome.
The course would be suitable for those with a knowledge of Latin Grammar and there are vacancies. The group meets at The Christopher Centre on alternate Friday mornings.
If you would like a ‘taster’ session with either of these groups, please contact Jennie Leech on 01787 373684.
